Anubhav Dubey, founder of Chai Sutta Bar, took to X, formerly Twitter, to post a “motivational” message a few days ago. However, the post did not go down well with netizens who trolled it, forcing Dubey to post a clarification.
In the post, Dubey is seen conducting a meeting and the caption said, “We are not looking for office employees working 9 to 5. No, not at all. We are making f**king Army here.”
“Using cuss word to look cool doesn’t make you cool. Selling chai is not a big deal,” a user commented. “We can make your army look like this!” said another and posted an AI-generated image of men dressed as gladiators selling tea.
“Everytime any non-military group refers to themselves as an army, know that something is really wrong with them!” wrote a third.
In the clarification that Dubey posted later, he wrote, “By “Army”, I don’t mean our Indian Army but a group of professionals working dedicatedly to make our country proud by expanding our outlets internationally, as we have already been expanding our outlets abroad since 2020.”
On his remark, “we are not looking for office employees working 9 to 5”, Dubey explained that he has always advocated for the well-being of employees and stood strong against a 70-hour work culture.
Addressing netizens who told him that selling chai is no big deal, Dubey wrote, “Yes, we sell chai, close to half a million cups daily, which generates employment for thousands of seasonal employed potters and hundreds of professionals working in offices.” He said they have opened outlets in Dubai, Nepal, and Oman and are about to open in Canada, the US, and the UK.
Replying to his clarification, a user posted, “Chill out.. You are going great… Wish you happy journey in your adventure of entrepreneurship. You are inspiration to younger generation. Now every parents let their child to chose work of their choice. You are torchbearer. Words can’t express real emotion but our work can.”
