The city of Bengaluru is not only famous as an IT hub but also for its startup culture. Many people have shared their experiences on social media showing the tech prowess of the citizens, which they dub ‘Peak Bengaluru’.

Now, a man shared on LinkedIn how he found out that his neighbour is a co-founder of Rapido, an Indian bike taxi aggregator and logistics service provider. Akashlal Bathe, a software engineer, said he got in touch with a random man who mentioned he wanted to borrow a ladder in his society WhatsApp group.

He was curious about his WhatsApp status as he had written “Rapido”. Sharing a screenshot of the WhatsApp conversation, the man, whose name and number was blurred, informed Bathe that he was a founder of the bike taxi aggregator. Bathe was impressed by this and said this would go up on his LinkedIn.

“On a fun note, I am still thinking why founder of Rapido needs a ladder?” commented a user. “Happens in Delhi NCR too many times I have come across founders of known brands in random places u just need to know where to hang … In Delhi case some cafes and small coffee homes are breeding grounds for startup discussions and founders,” said another. “Funny! One time i also had a somewhat similar chat with the founder of Razorpay. Only, he is not a neighbor but wanted to get his wedding card made,” shared another netizen.

In April, a man in the city, named Rohit Ghumare, shared his “Peak Bengaluru” moment as he got back his lost wallet. Ghumare had lost his wallet at a cafe and surprisingly got it back intact the next day. Despite not having his contact number, staff members at the cafe managed to get in touch with him – and of course, tech has a role in this too – after a Google search led to his contact number.
