Leaving children around open water bodies may require constant supervision by caretakers. To ease the fear of kids getting drowned, Floatee, a French company, has created special T-shirts that promptly turn into inflatable life jackets as they hit the water.

These T-shirts are made for kids between the ages of 18 months to six years. Earlier this week, business tycoon Anand Mahindra shared a video that demonstrated how these anti-drowning T-shirts work. Mahindra wrote, “This may not get a Nobel prize but it ranks higher than those inventions for me. Because as the grandfather of two young kids, their wellbeing & safety is my highest priority. This tweet has so far gathered over 14,000 likes.

Commenting on it, a Twitter user wrote, “Totally agree! Does not matter if I have small grandchildren. It’s a boon for all the children.” Another person wrote, “It may not receive the accolades of a Nobel Prize, but its significance cannot be measured in prestigious awards alone. For a doting grandparent like you, it holds immeasurable value because the safety and well-being of your cherished grandchildren are your highest priority.”

While talking to Apparel Resources, Jean-Pierre Dubois, CEO, Floatee, said, “We are excited to introduce our anti-drowning T-shirts to the world. We believe that these T-shirts will help to save lives and make the world a safer place for children.”
