One can trust Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, to promote his company’s products on social media. On Wednesday, the business magnate shared the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee’s Jawan and pointed out that the bike that SRK rides in the superhit film is a Jawa Yezdi, a popular cruiser bike that comes under Mahindra’s enterprise.
Mahindra wrote, “Legends ride on Legends. YEZDI. Fierce. Proud. Indian. (Jawa/Yezdi are @MahindraRise brands)”.
As this tweet gathered thousands of likes, people took to the comments to share how they still have older models of Jawa Yezdi bikes at their homes.
Echoing this view, an X user wrote, “I still have an old Jawa 1965 modle… (grand father’s pride possession)”. Another person wrote, “Remembering my father and father in law who owned Jawa mobikes in the 1960s … getting one of them reworked and refurbished if that’s the right word for me to ride Nostalgia again”.
Interestingly, SRK also drove a Jawa Yezdi motorcycle in his 1994 movie Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa.
This is not the first time that Mahindra has tweeted about SRK or Jawan with fondness. Last week, Mahindra shared a video that showed Jawan’s first look getting unveiled on Burj Khalifa and SRK greeting his fans in Dubai. While sharing this clip, Mahindra wrote, “All countries guard their natural mineral resources and mine them and usually export them to earn forex. Maybe it’s time to declare @iamsrk a Natural Resource.”
Classic Legends, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, relaunched the iconic Czech motorcycle brand Jawa in India in 2018. Jawa Yezdi was popular in India in the ‘60s and ‘70s. It stopped production in 1996.
