On Thursday, president Draupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards 2024 at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. Among the attendees, Charlotte Choplin, a 101-year-old French yoga instructor was also honoured with the Padma Shri.

Charlotte Choplin hails from France and has been a leading personality for over four decades in the field of yoga. She rose to fame after breaking stereotypes and taking up yoga after she crossed 50 years of age.
Even at the age of 101, she’s actively teaching yoga. She began her yoga career in 1982 in France, and then went on to spread the importance of yoga, fitness and a healthy lifestyle across the nation.
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Paris last year, he had the opportunity to meet Charlotte. PM Modi was impressed by her dedication towards promoting yoga in France and praised her efforts.
And thus, during the Padma Awards 2024, Choplin was also awarded with a Padma Shri.
The video crossed 181K views on X. Users flooded the comments with appreciation and praise. One user wrote, “he is a real inspiration for me, who thinks I am too old to start Yog now”. Another user commented, Amazing! Huge respect.” A third user said, “Holy crap she can walk like this at 101 !!Screw gym, I am switching to yoga.”
