An Al Jazeera correspondent covering the protests in Bolivia was attacked by police with tear gas. Teresa Bo, a senior correspondent at Al Jazeera English, was at the protest site doing a live coverage when a police officer sprayed tear gas on her face.

In the video, Bo can be seen covering the protests live as a police officer sprays tear gas at her while passing by. However, the journalist stayed extremely calm and professional and continued to cover the protests.
Bo also apologises to the camera as it was becoming extremely difficult for her to speak. The video of the attack was shared by Bo on her Twitter feed with the caption, “We were only in the street reporting what was happening and the Bolivian police responded like this”. People are out on the streets in Bolivia for over three weeks after the country’s first indigenous president Evo Morales was forced to step down due to military and public pressure over allegations of electoral fraud in the 2019 general elections. Though an interim administration has taken charge and called for fresh elections, the country is still under turmoil over the political uncertainty.
