After taking the Internet by storm with his impromptu Senorita performance on Mumbai streets, Canadian singer Shawn Mendes surprised fans by donning Virat Kohli’s jersey during his performance at Lollapalooza India 2025. Mendes performed on Saturday, March 8, at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai.
A sea of videos showing the Stitches singer wearing Virat Kohli’s jersey during his performance has taken over social media. Team India will lock horns with New Zealand on Sunday, March 9, for the ICC Champions Trophy final match.
The viral footage shows the singer pausing his performance to wear the jersey, sending the audience into a frenzy. Sharing the video, popular Instagram handle Diet Sabya wrote, “Boy He Atee.”

While many social media users took the opportunity to express their love for Mendes, some made hilarious comments on the video. “Loved when he sung dosa idli sambhar chutney chutney song,” a user wrote. “Saw him at Soho House last night- his smile (diamond emoji),” another commented.
“Shawty knows the audience pulse,” a third user wrote. “This crossover was not on our 2025 bingo card,” a fourth user said.
Lollapalooza 2025 marks Mendes’s first performance in India. The singer kick-started his stint with an impromptu performance on the streets of Mumbai. He was seen chilling and walking around the city and singing Senorita.
On the second day of the fest, artists like Lisa Mishra, Raghav Meattle, Hanumankind, Niladri Kumar, Raftaar x KR$NA, Glass Animals, Kamakshi Rai & Samar Mehdi, and others will perform.
