OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and his partner, Oliver Mulherin, welcomed a baby boy in February. On Monday, the 39-year-old tech mogul shared that their baby sleeps in a crib made by Cradlewise, founded by a Bengaluru-based startup. Altman not only mentioned Cradlewise by name but also recommended the smart crib worth $1,999 to fellow new parents.
Cradlewise, a tech-focused startup founded in 2016 by Radhika Patil and her husband Bharath Patil, is dedicated to enhancing infant sleep through its innovative smart crib.
“We bought a lot of silly baby things that we haven’t needed. But definitely I recommend a Cradlewise crib and a lot more burp rags than you think you could possibly need,” the billionaire wrote on X.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Thanks for the suggestion on the cradlewise! We got the Snoo and wished we had went with cradlewise. He loves his Lovevery playgym and BabyBjorn bouncer though! Those get daily use.” Another user commented, “1000% underrated. Strong second mover advantage over snoo.”
Cradlewise operates in the United States and India. The initial prototype of the smart crib was designed and built in Bengaluru.
Radhika responded to Altman’s post, saying, “Thanks for loving us @sama. The AI god’s trust in the smarts of @cradlewise means a lot to us. Wishing you all more.”
The Patil couple, along with their two young children, relocated to the United States during the coronavirus pandemic, the Founderoo reported.
According to the report, the inspiration for the smart crib struck after the birth of Radhika and Bharath Patil’s first child, Anushka. The product is priced at Rs 1.5 lakh in India.
