Paris is all set to host the Summer Olympics this year, which will begin on July 26 and conclude on August 11. Ahead of the opening ceremony, a stunning video of the full moon passing through the Olympic rings on the iconic monument of the French capital, the Eiffel Tower has emerged on social media.
The viral video shows a full moon positioned in the middle of the Olympic rings of the beautifully lighted Eiffel Tower. The rare sight was shared by the official French handle of the Olympics, Jeux Olympiques on X.
“I asked the moon. Only 4 more sleeps before the opening ceremony of,” wrote the handle.

Shared on July 22, the video garnered over 58,000 views as several social media users reacted to it. “And Gaga who has just arrived in Paris… I’m daydreaming. Thank you,” a user wrote. “This is magnificent,” another user commented.
“Awesome, awesome, we can’t wait,” a third user wrote.
A total of 10,500 athletes representing 206 countries are competing in the Paris Olympics 2024. The Olympic Games will take place at 35 venues overall. Some sports will begin before the official opening ceremony, including football and rugby sevens which start on July 24; archery and handball will be held on July 25, according to the Olympics’ official website.
The Opening Ceremonies will begin with the entrance of the Head of State (French President Emmanuel Macron) and IOC President (Thomas Bach), followed by the raising of the French flag and the playing of the national anthem of France.
