Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has built an $85 million entertainment empire. Despite his immense success, he recently shared on a podcast that his life has been full of relentless hustle, driven by the demands of his various successful companies and projects.
Speaking in a recent episode of The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett, MrBeast said, “The average person does not want to live the life I live, or be in my head,” adding, “They would be miserable because they’re just working all the time.”
MrBeast is involved in a wide range of ventures, the most prominent one being a leading content creator on YouTube, having amassed 370 million subscribers through his elaborate game-show-style videos that attract over 764 million views per episode.
Additionally, he owns Feastables, a chocolate company that secured $60 million in Series A funding in February 2024. He also launched Lunchly, a packaged food brand similar to Lunchables; MrBeast Burger, a virtual restaurant operating solely on pickup and delivery; and MrBeast LLC, a production company that helps create his viral videos, the Fortune reported.
“Obviously I’m not a robot. There are times when I’m like, ‘F—, I really want to play this strategy board game or I want to do this thing, then I look at the schedule and think, ‘Ah, maybe I could do that in four days,’” he said.
To handle the pressure, Donaldson mentioned that he had to shift his mental approach to everyday life to prevent himself from falling into depression. “You gotta control your thoughts, and [think], Well, this is the life I chose. You want success, you want to change the world? This is the price you have to pay,” he told Bartlett.
