On Wednesday, Microsoft announced that it laid off around 9,000 of its employees from across different teams and nations. Chris Bynum, a manager at the tech giant who was affected by the sudden job loss, shared a heartfelt note on LinkedIn.
In his post, Bynum shared that he recently completed 25 years at Microsoft. “In May, I celebrated a significant milestone at Microsoft – 25 years of dedicated service. Today, however, marks a bittersweet moment as I share that I have been laid off,” the post read.
He further shared that several colleagues, including his entire team, were affected by the layoff. “This unexpected turn has also affected many colleagues in my organization, including my entire team. To all those I’ve had the privilege to work alongside, I am grateful for the cherished memories we’ve created and I extend my best wishes for the paths you will tread in the future,” Bynum said.
“As I navigate this new chapter, I remain open to exploring fresh opportunities. Your consideration and keeping me in mind for any potential roles are greatly appreciated. Thank you,” he concluded.
