On June 8, as India defeated Pakistan by six runs in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup, social media was swamped with celebratory videos. A video of Pakistani content creator Reza Khan taking his father and his father-in-law, an Indian, to the match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is now winning hearts.
Khan shared the video in two parts. Khan began the video saying it was the first Indian vs Pakistan match the two fathers were seeing live. Khan’s father could be seen wearing a Pakistan jersey while his father-in-law, an Indian jersey. Saying it’s a day he will never forget, Khan showed his father-in-law saying, “I am feeling fantastic because India is going to win,” and his father saying “In your dreams.”
Khan also included a snippet to show how his father was shown on television. Initially, it looked like Pakistan would win the game. At one point, Khan’s father-in-law tells him, “It’s not done yet,” and Khan said how everything changed from that moment, hinting at how Indian bowlers ensured they won. He captioned this video “part 1 of the wildest day ever”.

Khan uploaded a second part to this with the caption “part 2 of the wildest day ever,” and it showed how the Indian team won the game eventually. He can be seen asking his father how he feels, and his father responding saying “sad”. Khan’s father-in-law and other Indian fans in the stadium can be seen celebrating their team’s win.
Both the videos garnered heartfelt comments and over a million views on the platform. A user commented, “So incredibly proud these are my wild, funny, gentlemen: DAD, FIL, and HUBS.” Another user wrote, “Being an Indian, extremely proud of the team and how we took over the match but definitely sad for Pakistan (for the first time) it was definitely their win hahaha!! Anyway, Jai Hind.”
“This is amazing,” a third user reacted.
On Sunday, after the game began after a delay, India were bowled out for 119 runs. Rishabh Pant scored 40 runs. Pakistan failed to reach the target of 120 runs and finished at 113/7 in their 20 overs.
