The Grammys 2025 paid an emotional tribute to Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, who passed away in October last year. In Memoriam Segment honouring musicians who died in 2024, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin performed “All My Love” for the late artist.
The tribute featured a montage of clips of Payne’s stint with One Direction, highlighting their early days and global stardom. “We never expected any of this to happen… If you actually sit and think about it, we’ve done some amazing things,” Payne says in the video. As the clip progresses, Marting begins to sing “All My Love.”

The 31-year-old British musician passed away on October 16 after reportedly falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to the Associated Press, Payne died due to “extremely serious injuries” caused by his fall. The hotel manager was heard speaking on the emergency call about “a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol … He’s destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please,” the Police said.
