American actress Cristin Milioti had a night to remember at Sunday’s Primetime Emmy Awards, both for her big win and an unexpected fall during the afterparty.

The 40-year-old actor won her first Emmy for her standout performance as Sofia Falcone in HBO’s The Penguin, but the celebration took a literal turn when she stumbled and dropped her trophy while arriving at an afterparty in Los Angeles.

In a now-viral video, Milioti, dressed in a black leather jacket, is seen arriving at the party venue when she suddenly loses her footing and falls, her golden Emmy slipping from her grasp.

A man quickly stepped in, helping Milioti back to her feet and picking up the trophy at the same time. “Oh my god,” she reacted. Despite the mishap, Milioti laughed it off and walked into the event with the Emmy in hand, cheerfully telling onlookers, “Thanks, bye!”

The video quickly drew attention with several fans backing Milioti. “She is human like the rest of us. Great actress who has earned the recognition!” a fan commented. “She described that reward.. what a great series,” another fan wrote.

“I feel bad for her, how embarrassing.. her man (or one of them) should have had her arm,” a third user reacted.

The Black Mirror star earned critical acclaim for her role in The Batman spinoff series and won an Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category. She was nominated in the category with Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Rashida Jones (Black Mirror), Michelle Williams (Dying for Sex), and Meghann Fahy (Sirens).

Earlier in the evening, Milioti wore a striking crimson-red Danielle Frankel gown as she accepted her award on stage. “It’s very hard to make sense of being alive right now in this world, so I’m deeply grateful for the bright spots,” she said in her acceptance speech. “Making this show with our incredible cast and crew, and getting to inhabit this woman was a bright spot for me. Despite it being very grisly, playing her felt like flying.”

Milioti closed her speech with passion, eyes shut, yelling to the crowd, “I love you and I love acting so much! Woo!”

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Milioti said, “My spirit left my body,” she admitted. “I kept getting lost in my speech, too, and thinking like, ‘Oh no I forgot. Oh God, I’m forgetting.’ But it also feels amazing. It’s an adrenaline rush. I feel like I was just shot out of a T shirt cannon.”
