‘Yes, I do’: Cristiano Ronaldo proposes to Georgina Rodríguez with a giant 35-carat diamond ring

Cristiano Ronaldo, fondly known as the GOAT footballer, is now engaged to his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez, after nearly a decade together. The 40-year-old football legend proposed to Rodríguez with a giant 35-carat diamond ring, sending the Internet into a frenzy.

Georgina, 30, shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of the couple’s hands intertwined, with a massive diamond ring. “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas (Yes, I do. In this life and in all my lives),” she wrote in the caption.

Congratulatory messages poured in ever since the news broke. Jewellery influencer Julia Chafe joined the buzz with a detailed video breakdown of the ring’s potential value and rarity. “Does #GeorginaRodriguez have a $3 million #engagementring?” she wrote.

“Should you leave your husband for not buying you a $3,000,000 engagement ring? Maybe,” Chafe said in the video. Further, she estimated that the ring features a 35-carat, oval-shaped, D-Flawless diamond, which ranks among the rarest and most valuable in the world.

“If there’s anything we know about Georgina, she’s not here to mess around. She waited nine years for that ring. She deserves it,” she said.

Chafe also referenced a similar 35-carat, D-VVS type, emerald-cut diamond that sold at Sotheby’s for the same amount. But she speculates Georgina’s stone could be even more valuable. “I’m guessing it’s at least $3,000,000,” she stated.

“Another thing that makes this stone so expensive: to wear this stone regularly, you’re going to need finger reconstruction surgery. Just imagine wearing a 100-pound kettlebell on your finger all day, every day. Painful, but worth it,” she added.

Concluding the video, Chafe said, “If we all go home and ask our husbands at the same time for a $3,000,000 ring, I think they might say yes. The power’s in the numbers.”
