Chris Martin continues to create viral moments on the Music of the Spheres world tour. At the band’s concert on August 22 in London’s Wembley Stadium, the frontman helped orchestrate a heartwarming proposal that quickly caught the Internet’s attention.
In a video shared to TikTok and further circulated across social media platforms, a man in the crowd can be seen holding a sign that reads, “I want to propose to her,” with an arrow pointing to his girlfriend. The couple soon appeared on the stadium’s jumbotron as Martin paused the show to address them directly.
“My brother, I need you to nod because I do some very basic security checks,” Martin said, drawing laughs from the crowd. “Is this person your partner? No one else’s partner?,” he added.
It was a tongue-in-cheek reference to the viral moment from earlier this year, when the CEO of a major tech company was spotted on Coldplay’s kiss cam with the company’s head of HR. The two had attempted to duck out of frame, sparking an internet frenzy and meme fest.
Back on stage, Martin playfully continued his “checks,” making sure the pair weren’t “cousins or AI-generated,” before guiding the man. Then, in true Coldplay fashion, Martin started singing, “My beautiful brother, here is some advice for free. As we all look on and see you go down, I advise you to get down on one knee.”
The fan went down on one knee, prompting cheers from the audience as his girlfriend said yes, sealing the moment with a kiss. “Congratulations, my brother and my sister. What a beautiful girl. What a wonderful guy. On a day like this, I encourage you to kiss. I hope you’re happy until the day that you die,” Martin said.

The video quickly gained traction, prompting numerous reactions. “So happy for the couple, but whoever was with them failed the vibe, I would’ve let them have their whole moment,” a user wrote. “coldplay either making or breaking relationships,” another user commented.
“This is what redemption looks like,” a third user reacted.
