AR Rahman, the Oscar-winning music maestro, has enthralled generations with his soulful compositions. Fondly known as ‘Mozart of Madras’, the musician enjoys a massive fan following worldwide. Recently, a video from the World Aquatics Doha 2024 showing the USA artistic swimming team performing Rahman’s iconic song ‘Taal Se Taal’ is winning hearts on the internet.

The viral video shows a group of women swimmers manoeuvering impeccable synchronisation underwater as the instrumental version of ‘Taal Se Taal’ plays in the stadium. The song, crooned by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan, stars Aishwarya Rai and Akshaye Khanna.

Shared on August 4, the video garnered over a million views as several social media users hailed it the biggest crossover. Reacting to it, a user commented, “Taal se taal is perfect for any cultural event… arr truly is the face of Indian music.” Another user wrote, “Felt happy for the song but look at them how can they do that..the balancing in the water is no joke.”

“What amazing synchronising in the pool. Beautifully orchestrated,” a third user reacted.

The 2024 World Aquatics Championships took place from February 2-18 in Doha. While the People’s Republic of China secured the gold medal in Artistic Swimming in the Acrobatic Finals, Ukraine and the USA clinched silver and bronze, respectively.
