Global Power Cities Index (GPCI): In today’s interconnected world, cities around the globe are emerging as dynamic powerhouses, driving global influence, economic growth, and cultural exchange.

They are no longer just geographical spaces; they have become influential players on the world stage, competing to attract top talent, leading businesses, and international visitors.

As a result, the evolution making them fundamental drivers of global prosperity and development signifies a transformation in which urban areas serve as epicentres of progress, collaboration, and opportunity.

In a notable mention, London has been demonstrating strong overall performance, holding its first-place position and highest score in the Global Power Index.

While the top five most influential global cities have retained their rankings for the ninth consecutive year, New York, ranked at 2nd, experienced a slight decline in its score, causing the gap between it and the remaining three cities to narrow significantly, as their scores improved.

In another remarkable mention, Dubai has emerged as a global leader in innovation, economic dynamism, and connectivity.

Reaffirming its position as a global hub, Dubai has been featured in the global rankings for the second consecutive year, making it the only Middle Eastern city to achieve this while also ranking first regionally.

Despite these challenges, Mumbai, as the financial capital of India, has shown resilience in its economy and recently has emerged as the fifth fastest developing city globally, as per Savills Research.

Additionally, its rapid expansion led Mumbai to surpass Beijing as the “billionaire capital of Asia,” propelling it not only to be the fastest-growing billionaire capital but also to become the third richest in the world, Hurun reported.
