After helping their side crush Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) veteran spinner Amit Mishra and all-rounder Krunal Pandya spoke about their game plan, mindset and more in a post-match video posted by the Indian Premier League (IPL) on their social media handles.
“I’ve been practising here for the last 10-15 days, I felt confident and I think wickets are a byproduct of that,” said Krunal Pandya, player of the match.
Speaking on his bowling strategy, Pandya revealed, “The four overs I bowled I thought pace would do the trick. Whenever a new batter was on crease I was varying my pace.”
“After bowling four overs I knew with what approach I’m gonna bat. I took clue from the first innings and I planned on playing with intent that is what helped me bat that away and I wish to carry that forward,” said Pandya when asked about his mindset while batting.
40-year old Mishra on Friday took a stunner in the 18th over of the game to get rid of Rahul Tripathi, talking about the same, the veteran said, “I try to give my best and I think as long as I’m gonna have that fire within me to take wickets I’m gonna continue playing cricket.”
“I spoke to KL and he told me Mishi bhai do whatever you feel is right and I knew I wanted to bring down the run rate rather than getting a wicket,” he added.
Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns with Punjab Kings in their third home game on April 15.
