Mumbai Indians (MI) Schedule, IPL 2024: Led by new captain Hardik Pandya, five-time champions Mumbai Indians slumped to defeat in their IPL 2024 opener against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
While the initial portion of the IPL schedule for the upcoming season was announced in February, the full IPL 2024 schedule was made public on March 25.
This season, the 10 teams have been divided into two groups with teams in the same group to play the five teams in the other group twice in the group stage while playing the other four teams in their own group just once.
Here are the IPL 2024 groups:
GROUP A: Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants
GROUP B: Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans
In IPL 2023, MI had only won three of their first seven games but still made it to the final four after lifting themselves in the second half of the tournament. They eventually lost in the Eliminator match to Gujarat Titans. The five-time IPL champions snapped Hardik Pandya back via a trade from the Gujarat Titans, a decision that generated a lot of ire among Gujarat fans with Pandya being booed by the Ahmedabad faithful. Hardik had led the Titans to the IPL final in both seasons, one of which ended with a title.

MI squad for IPL 2024 season
With Hardik joining the team before the IPL auction, the team has a strong core of proven Indian match-winners in the form of Rohit, Hardik, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan.
To incorporate Hardik, Mumbai traded Cameron Green to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The team also snapped up three overseas pacers – Gerald Coetzee, Dilshan Madushanka and Nuwan Thushara – in the IPL 2024 auction.
