John Campbell scored his first Test century while Shai Hope scored his first century in the format in nine years. While there was a collapse after the two centurions fell Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales put up a last wicket stand of 79 runs off 133 balls to push West Indies close to 400. Seales became Jasprit Bumrah’s third wicket of the innings and that ended the West Indies innings. He fell on 32 off 67 balls while Greaves finished unbeaten on 50 off 85.

Yashasvi Jaiswal then came to bat with 18 overs of the day remaining and hit two boundaries, one powerful cover drive and one finely played to third man, it may have given the impression that they were motivated to finish this on Monday itself. But once he lost his wicket, caught in the deep off Jomel Warrican, KL Rahul and B Sai Sudharsan put together a mature 54-run stand without taking many risks.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Ravindra Jadeja player of the series

I could get a chance to bowl more overs (after Ashwin's retirement). But yeah, all in all, we’ve been doing wonderful work as a team, in terms of batting and bowling. I think we know what brand of cricket we’ve been playing over the last five, six months. So that’s a good sign as a team, that we continue to do it over a long period of time. As Gauti bhai (Gambhir) said, I’m at number six now. So I’m thinking more as a proper batsman, and that works for me. In the past, for many years, I’ve been batting at number eight, number nine, so my mindset was a little different from what I have now. I’m just trying to spend more time in the middle whenever I get a chance to bat. To be honest, I don’t think too much about records. I just focus on contributing with both bat and ball to help my team win. I always look forward to do that. I feel if I don’t perform with bat and ball, then it doesn’t reflect my value as a player. I’m always keen and give my 100 percent. I think this is my third Man of the Series trophy, so yeah, I’m very happy to bring it back home.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Kuldeep Yadav POTM

This was a totally different wicket. Bowling a lot of overs was the challenge here, I enjoyed bowling here. There wasn't any drift here. The wicket was too dry. Bowling lot of overs and getting the breakthrough is something I enjoy a lot. When you put a lot of revs, you generally get the drift. You love to the get the batter bowled. I enjoyed a couple of wickets in the first Tests, here as well. We got to fly tomorrow, we got to prepare for that. It's lovely to have him (Jadeja) around. He's someone who has always guided me in tough situations and giving me some advice.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Roston Chase after loss

The positives for us in this match was that Campbell and Hope played well and scored hundreds. They fought for us, we batted 100 overs after a long time, that was another positive. Taking the game to the 5th day, that was great for us. We were always discussing and trying to find ways how we could bat through those 80 overs. We came up with a lot of ideas, batting against spin, sweeping, using our feet, and it was just about the guys going out there and executing the plans we’d spoken about. I think the guys we have here are some of the best players in the Caribbean. So it’s just for us to use this last Test match as a stepping stone and a confidence booster going into the upcoming series. We just have to keep improving as much as we can from here.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Sai Sudharsan after game

It feels really great to be honest. After a good series where we gave them a fight (in England), coming back to India and winning the series is special. I've learned a lot in these five games and I'm looking forward to improving on that, and obviously giving a bit more for the team. I was very clear that he would not sweep (on the catch to dismiss John Campbell in the 1st innings), the wicket was low and I knew he'll not play the sweep shot, so I was very brave enough to, you know, hold my position. I was very lucky there. Understanding the role, understanding what a number 3 must do, learning to take responsibility and bat in a risk-free manner (on his learnings going forward). I've played a lot with Shuby (Shubman Gill). The way he captains, and the way he gives beliefs to the players, I think it's really great. Looking forward to having a lot more opportunities.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: IND beat WI by 7 wickets in New Delhi to win series 2-0

KL Rahul gets the winning runs and India whitewash West Indies 2-0. It is the first series win for Shubman Gill as a captain and it is a day to remember for him. He has had a tough start to his captaincy career in England, but he improved through that tour and had a good series here. All those who did well in England continued their good form, which are positive signs for the next series against South Africa. Kuldeep Yadav, too, has been magnificent with eight wickets. Do stay with us we will be right back with the presentation.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Gill departs; 50 for Rahul

Too much intent from Gill, but he errored in execution, went for another lofted shot while charging down the track but miscued it straight to Justin Greaves at mid-wicket. Dhruv Jurel is the new man in and as we update, Rahul reached his well-timed half-century. Proper class from this opener. Just 7 required now.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Rahul, Gill in hurry

Rahul has had enough, gets a juicy full ball from Warrican into the slot, and he goes for a slog sweep, depositing the ball deep into the deep mid-wicket. Only 25 required now. SIX more! Gill this time. While Rahul ended the over with a maximum, it's Gill who started the following over with a biggie. Shimmied down the track and hits it over long-on for a good-looking six. FOUR! India are in a hurry now. Short, loosener from Chase and Gill backed away and pulled with authority.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Skipper Gill in the middle

With just 33 runs needed, skipper Shubman Gill has joined KL Rahul. No hurry here, both batters are assured of their defence, strolling for some easy singles as India gets closer to the 121-run target. Gill is also off the mark with a single.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Sudharsan falls

Sai Sudharsan has fallen here, and it was a bit of an attacking shot that got his dismissal. He tried to drive the ball through the covers, got the outside edge, and the slip took the catch. Well, it was an occasion for Sudharsan to remain unbeaten and carry the bat but not to be. Skipper Shubman Gill has walked into the middle and India will be hoping that was the final wicket before they could knock out the remaining of runs.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Vast improvement

There is a vast improvement in the West Indies from the first Test and the second Test wonder what the series will look like if it is a three-match series. Despite their limitations in infrastructure and quality, this side has shown so far that if they get enough time to adapt, they can put on a performance, which is what they did. Wonder how different this series could have been if the West Indies had gotten a practice game or so ahead of the series.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: No hurry

India seems to be in no hurry to get things done here. They are being pretty patient and playing each ball on its merit, and are looking to get it done professionally. Although Warrican and Chase are not bad options wonder if Chase should have opted with Jayden Seales to go from one end in this opening burst just to see if he can get any seam moment of this surface. But as of now, the ball is going in straight lines.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Spin to start

It is the spin that has been put on by Roston Chase from both ends. On one end, it is Jomel Warrican, and on the other end, it is the skipper himself. In this morning hour there might be some turn for them because of the moisture; hence India needs to be a bit cautious, not that they are going to lose this game from here, but they have to mix caution with aggression so that they don't lose further wickets and win this game authoritatively.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Let's go!

It should not take long, however, if the West Indies can pick up a few wickets, that will be some sort of moral victory for them. It will be interesting to see how KL Rahul and Sai Sudharan will approach this. The general method has been to see off the first hour, will it be the same today let's wait

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Deep Dasgupta and Ian Bishop

This pitch has played a lot better than we expected. The footmarks are still there and I was looking for the little area on the pitch where a little bit of the leather came off the ball. You could see how abrasive it is. The way that Justin Greaves played at the back end of the WI innings, very orthodox, it says that the pitch is still very good in spite of all the cracks. The curator was saying that the difference between this black surface and the one in Kolkata is the clay content. Because the clay content is not as much, that's the reason we see the slowness of the pitch or lack of bounce and that definitely helps the batters. You can't afford to play across the line. Nothing much for the bowlers. One or two might turn, the odd ball might keep low.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Core of comeback

The centuries scored by John Campbell and Shai Hope (who both entered the match with disappointing Test records) were the core of the West Indies' fightback. Their 177-run stand not only gave them personal milestones but also exhausted the Indian team, keeping them in the field for almost two days and putting pressure on captain Shubman Gill to find a breakthrough when the pitch conditions had stopped favoring his bowlers.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Summary so far

The second Test match in Delhi between India and the West Indies, where the West Indies mounted a spirited, yet ultimately insufficient, fightback after being forced to follow on. Following heavy criticism, the West Indies' resistance was spearheaded by John Campbell and Shai Hope, both of whom scored crucial centuries in a 177-run partnership that forced India to chase a small target. The fight ended with a collapse triggered by Mohammed Siraj and the low bounce exploited by spinner Kuldeep Yadav (who took 8 wickets in the match), though a late 10th-wicket stand further delayed the inevitable. India, needing 121 runs, ended the day on the verge of victory, with KL Rahul and B Sai Sudharsan ensuring a mature, risk-free chase after an early dismissal.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Jaiswal falls

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal started the chase aggressively, hitting two boundaries with 18 overs left in the day, suggesting India might try to win that day. However, after Jaiswal was caught out off Jomel Warrican, KL Rahul and B Sai Sudharsan played a cautious and mature 54-run partnership, prioritizing stability over risk.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Flaccid

The pitch was "flaccid" and did not break down to help the spinners, which is unusual for a fourth-day surface and prolonged the match. The West Indies' final batting effort was a defiant 10th-wicket partnership between Greaves and Seales. This stand lasted for almost two hours, including the tea break, and was the second-highest ever against India for that wicket. This late surge briefly gave the West Indies a 120-run lead and a "glimmer of hope."

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Significant deficit

Despite the strong batting performances, the West Indies' significant deficit from the first innings made the final result (an Indian victory) "inevitable." India triggered a small collapse by taking the new ball immediately. Hope was the first to fall, dismissed by Mohammed Siraj with a ball that kept low. The low bounce proved to be a major factor in subsequent dismissals, with Kuldeep Yadav exploiting it along with his turn to fox the batters. Kuldeep finished the match with 8 wickets, equaling his best-ever Test match haul.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Solid partnership

Shai Hope, Campbell's partner, also reached a century, his first in eight years, while batting alongside the skipper, Roston Chase. Hope had been under immense pressure due to his poor Test average (25.37) and a long drought without a 50+ score, which highlights the West Indies' limited talent pool. Despite this, he capitalized on the favorable batting conditions to score a much-needed big hundred, and he and Chase took the team safely to the lunch break, suggesting they were capable of playing a long innings.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Admirable fight

Campbell scored his first-ever Test century in a highly impressive display of batting. His 177-run partnership was crucial in mounting a strong fightback for his team. The partnership ended when Campbell was dismissed leg-before while attempting his first reverse sweep of the innings. The scoring was notably effective against the Indian spinners, including Ravindra Jadeja.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: John Campbell after maiden ton

I can’t really put it into words right now. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to describe it. We always spoke about it being a good batting track. As a batsman, once you get a start here, it becomes easier. I think I still went for my shots, it was just about being more selective. My shot selection was a lot clearer in this innings. I’ve always enjoyed playing the sweep. Thankfully, it worked well for me. (On reaching the hundred with a six) Before the ball, I saw him putting mid-on a little bit closer, so I thought, if it’s close enough for me, I’m going for it. (On his dismissal in the first innings) That was a freak of a catch. Honestly, I couldn’t have done anything different. I am just thankful I could come back in the second innings and make a big contribution for the team.

India vs West Indies Live Cricket Score, 2nd Test Day 5: Hola!

Hello and welcome to our live blog of India taking on the West Indies for the final day. It is hard to believe, but it has been a year since India won the home series after their horror defeat against New Zealand. While Ahmedabad was easy, this game did have its moments yesterday, but eventually India came back into the game and will hope to knock off the remaining 58 to get over the line.

India remained in total control of the second Test against the West Indies at the Feroz Shah Kotla grounds on Monday, going into the fifth day with nine wickets in hand and only 58 more runs needed to sweep the series.

Despite that, however, the veneer of total domination that Shubman Gill’s side had established by the time they went in for their tea break on Sunday, needing just eight wickets on their way to another comfortable innings victory, slipped ever so slightly after the West Indies fought back and made them toil on the field for 200 overs after India made the unlikely decision to enforce the follow-on.
