Congress not to ally with LJP or RJD in Bihar

Congress insisted that they want to go alone in the next Assembly polls in Bihar even as both RJD and LJP have expressed their desire to partner them.

Congress on Tuesday insisted that they want to go alone in the next Assembly elections in Bihar even as both the RJD and LJP have expressed their desire to partner them.

“By saying that they are partnering with the Congress amounts to misleading people. It is nothing but a wishful thinking of the RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his LJP counterpart Ramvilas Paswan,” state Congress chief Anil Sharma said.

The Congress has immensely gained in terms of vote share in the Assembly polls and did not need to enter into an alliance to contest the next polls,Sharma said.

“We are however happy to note that both the RJD and LJP have realised the importance of Congress,” he said.

In the bypolls to 18 assembly seats in the state,Congress won two seats – Simri Bakhtiarpur and Chenari, while the LJP-RJD combine won nine seats, with the BSP and an independent candidate sharing one each.
