House resolution condemns truce violation by Pak

Parliament Wednesday unanimously adopted a resolution in both Houses strongly condemning the Pakistan army

Parliament Wednesday unanimously adopted a resolution in both Houses strongly condemning the Pakistan army for violating the ceasefire on the LoC and indulging in unprovoked attack on Indian forces which led to the death of five soldiers last week.

Warning Pakistan not to test Indias will, the resolution said: Our restraint should not be taken for granted nor should the capacity of our Armed Forces to ensure the territorial integrity of our nation.

Both Houses also rejected a resolution by the Pakistan National Assembly Tuesday which had accused Indian troops of unprovoked aggression on the LoC. Saying that the resolution levelled absolutely baseless and unfounded allegations against India,Parliament asked the government of Pakistan to abide by the ceasefire commitment of 2003 in letter and spirit.

Both the Houses regretted that the Pakistan Army was indulging in attacks at a time when efforts are being made to establish a long-lasting framework of peaceful, friendly and cooperative ties so that both countries may henceforth devote their resources and energies to the pressing task of advancing the welfare of their people. Both Houses also affirmed that India has upheld the sanctity of the LoC.
