One girl from Ahmedabad recorded her statement before the Judicial Magistrate here on Wednesday alleging that she was raped by Asaram.
Earlier,two sisters from Surat had lodged complaints of rape against Asaram and his son Narayan Sai at Jehangirpura police station. The complaint against Asaram was transferred to Chandkheda police station in Ahemdabad as the incident was alleged to have taken place there. The complainant had recorded her statements under CrPC 164 before a Judicial Magistrate a few days ago.
The girl from Chandkheda area in Ahmedabad came to Surat along with Ahmedabad police and registered her statements. Earlier,she was a devotee of Asaram and staying at Jehangirpura ashram in Surat for a few years.
The alleged rape victim recorded her statement under section 164 of CrPC before Judicial Magistrate (first class) J M Parmar.
Court rejects bail application
A local court on Wednesday rejected Asarams bail application in the sexual assault case lodged against him by one of the two Surat-based sisters. Sessions Judge D T Soni rejected Asarams bail plea on the grounds that the investigation in the case lodged against him is at a crucial juncture and the allegations against him are of serious nature.
