Gone are the days when people had to go under the knife for surgical procedures to alter the shape of their noses. This innovative technique, experts suggest, has revolutionised the field of aesthetics by providing a non-invasive solution to those seeking a more refined nasal appearance.
Non-surgical nose reshaping, also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty or liquid rhinoplasty, involves using dermal fillers to reshape the nose, without the need for surgery, said Dr Aleena Rehman, aesthetic physician, hair restoration and non-surgical treatments, CARA Clinic Santacruz Mumbai. “By strategically injecting fillers into different areas of the nose, a skilled aesthetic practitioner can address a wide range of concerns, such as a dorsal hump, a droopy tip, or even a slightly asymmetrical nose,” said Dr Rehman.
The procedure is quick and painless. The practitioner will first assess the patient’s nose and discuss the desired outcome. Then, a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area. Using a fine needle, the filler is injected into specific points, carefully sculpting the nose into the desired shape. The results are instant, and there is typically no downtime required, making it a popular lunchtime procedure.
One of the main benefits of non-surgical nose reshaping is that it offers immediate results without the risks and recovery time associated with a surgical procedure. The fillers used are temporary, which means that if a patient is unhappy with the results, they can simply wait for the filler to dissolve naturally over time or have it dissolved with an enzyme injection. Vascular complications: In rare cases, vascular compromise can occur if the filler is inadvertently injected into a blood vessel, leading to potential complications, making it crucial for you to get it administered by a certified dermatologist only.
While the results of non-surgical nose reshaping are immediate, they are not permanent. Dr Kisalay mentioned, “The results of non-surgical nose reshaping are not permanent. Hyaluronic acid fillers are gradually absorbed by the body over time,” he said.
The dermal fillers used typically last between 12-24 months, depending on the type of filler used and the individual metabolism. If a patient is unhappy with the results or encounters any issues, the procedure can be reversed or adjusted by dissolving the fillers with a specific enzyme.
