Kanye West, now known as Ye, faced scrutiny last year due to a series of antisemitic remarks, resulting in the loss of significant partnerships with brands such as Balenciaga, Adidas, and Gap. Particularly, during his Yeezy fashion show at Paris Fashion Week in October, he caused controversy by featuring a t-shirt with the slogan ‘White Lives Matter,’ which is considered a “white supremacist phrase.”

Additionally, he made public antisemitic remarks, downplayed the death of George Floyd as a fentanyl overdose, and engaged in bullying behaviour towards Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. As a consequence of his controversial actions, he was suspended from both Twitter and Instagram. However, he later found support from Elon Musk, who welcomed him back to Twitter.

And now, Kanye’s ex-wife and American TV personality Kim Kardashian has opened up about his remarks in the latest episode of The Kardashians. Breaking down in tears, she told her sister Khloe that she was “not okay”.

She said that it “sucks when someone doesn’t see how different they are” as she revealed she is always looking for the person Kanye used to be earlier in hopes of seeing a “glimpse” of the man she married. “It’s so different than the person that I married because that’s who I loved and that’s who I remember. I’ll do anything to get that person back,” Kim said.

Further, she told Khloe that she “felt so bad” for him. “I don’t even think he feels bad for himself because I don’t even know if he knows how,” she said, adding that she hasn’t spoken to him because she felt he would go off on her.

“I feel guilty that I posted something in support of the Jewish community, and then people dropped him today. Is that my fault? That I posted that? And did that push them? And I should have just kept quiet? But I’m vocal about everything else…it’s like I never know what to do,” she said.

Kim went on to reveal that she doesn’t want to criticise her ex-husband online because he is the father of her four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. “The whole situation is sad, and I don’t know how to emotionally manage it. I’m conflicted because I don’t ever want to jump in and be a part of a downfall for the father of my kids,” she said.
