Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims as a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. Ramadan lasts for twenty-nine to thirty days, from the sighting of one crescent moon to the next. This time, it will be observed from April 23 to May 23, 2020.
As per Islamic beliefs and traditions, the holy book of Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad during Ramadan. Muslims also believe that during this time, the gates of hell close and those of heaven open.
