How we start our mornings often sets the tone for the rest of the day, especially when it comes to energy, mood, and productivity. Content creator Ranveer Allahbadia recently shared his own approach in a vlog clip, where he described how his daily habits revolve around food choices.
He said, “At my age, I’m 32. I have to focus a crazy amount on what I’m putting into my system. The real routine starts with your food. The more you respect your body through your food choices, the more your body will respect your spirit and mind. Your mental health will be good. Your spiritual health will be great.”
He added, “This is how every morning of mine starts. I have some soaked nuts. I eat this pomegranate prasad. I eat some fruit and drink a protein shake. Plant protein is not available here. But after an hour, I’ll eat raw vegetables for gut health. For vitamins and minerals. This is how every morning of mine starts. And it’s been like this for the past 5-6 years. Eating boring food gives you power. You look much better, you feel much better. You feel higher energy levels. Just showing you what a real routine is like.”
Aditi Prabhu, clinical and sports dietitian-nutritionist and founder, NutroDynamix, says, “Yes, keeping meals simple and repetitive can actually improve energy levels and overall health by reducing decision fatigue surrounding what to eat, and helping to establish routine and discipline, which in turn also helps in better digestion and steady blood sugars which resulting in improved energy throughout the day.”
However, she added that there are downsides to it; “the repetition of the same food restricts dietary diversity. It can also make food monotonous and boring, which may not work with everyone and could increase the chances of binges or cravings.”
Prabhu notes, “Nutrition is not one-size-fits-all. So, while the soaked nuts, pomegranate prasad, fruit, and protein shake, followed by raw vegetables, may meet Ranveer’s nutritional requirements based on his current lifestyle, nutritional requirements and goals. But it may not be ideal for everyone.”
For someone with a morning that requires more physical work and running around may need more complex carbohydrates. Similarly, the expert adds that not everyone can tolerate raw vegetables and may increase existing gut health issues.
“In short, balance looks different for everyone, and it varies based on age, gender, lifestyle, physical requirements and activity,” explains Prabhu.
“There is a strong link between mindful food choices and mental/emotional well-being,” admits Prabhu.
She suggests that diets “rich in whole foods, nuts, seeds, seasonal fruits and vegetables, along with good sources of protein-rich foods, reduce the risk of gut health issues and support mental health. While diets rich in ultra-processed, refined and packaged foods aggravate the risk of gut issues, anxiety, and even poor sleep.”
