Breakfast is the first meal of the day, which is why it must never be skipped. Also, it is equally important to consume a healthy breakfast to get the energy to stay active and productive throughout the day. The right breakfast, in addition to giving energy, also provides various nutrients required for the proper functioning of the body.

As such, MasterChef Pankaj Bhadouria shared the recipe of Banarasi Chura Matar, a nutritious breakfast option that can be prepared without putting in a lot of effort.

Sharing the recipe on her Instagram, the chef wrote “An ideal breakfast is light, healthy, and nourishing, and this Banarasi Chura Matar fits the bill perfectly!”

Banarasi Chura Matar recipe

 

Ingredients

1 cup poha
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tsp finely chopped ginger
1/4 cup green peas
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt to taste

Method

Wash the poha well and drain water
Add the washed poha into a bowl
Now add salt and sugar and fluff it with a fork
Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes
Take a pan and add ghee to it
Now add cumin seeds, green chillies, and ginger
Sautee till fragrant
Now add green peas followed by garam masala and black pepper powder
Cook till peas soften
Now, add the poha mixture and give a nice stir
At last, add lemon juice
Garnish with chopped coriander
