It is good to experience a burst of wellness with immunity chai, a potent concoction for your immune system. If you have been thinking of having one this winter, here’s some help from filmmaker Tahira Kashyap who shared how she starts her mornings.

“I call this my immunity chai! Gets me through the day. Try the recipe and tell me how you feel. No filters, just me and my sleepy-eyed morning rituals,” said Tahira while sharing the recipe on her Instagram.

She demonstrated that she makes her immunity chai by adding fresh lemongrass, fresh haldi, ginger and a dash of lemon with honey. She also had soaked black raisins, walnuts and prunes with her chai.

One user shared, “I do this too everyday. This small simple routine, I follow on an everyday basis makes me prepared to face the day with a wholesome start”, while another shared, “It’s refreshing and tastes like heaven”.

Considering that for many, tea is more than just a beverage such that it’s a daily ritual, is the immunity chai worth a try?

Each element in this robust blend plays a unique role in bolstering your immune system, nutrition experts urge. Lemongrass’s refreshing notes with ginger and turmeric make for an anti-viral remedy with powerful antioxidants, said Amreen Shaikh, head dietitian, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central.

The zesty touch of lemon enhances the blend, providing a refreshing twist to the earthy ensemble. “Honey, with its natural sweetness and antibacterial qualities, completes the recipe,” mentioned Shaikh.

According to Srirupa Guha, senior executive – nutritionist, Health and Wellness online store, HyugaLife, the anti-inflammatory properties of ginger and turmeric work in harmony to ease inflammation, promoting overall well-being. “It’s also rich in antioxidants, guarding against oxidative stress and promoting a radiant glow. And let’s not forget its soothing support for the respiratory system, making it a must-have during flu season,” said Guha.

So, embrace the warmth, savour the flavours, and let each sip be a moment of self-care, fortifying your immune resilience most delightfully!
