People have adopted a sedentary lifestyle nowadays which brings a host of health issues affecting our overall health. The problem of joint pains is one of them. Experts believe that if not treated early, it can lead to severe arthritis.

As per the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, keeping your joints healthy will allow you to run, walk, jump, play sports, and do all other things you like to do. Physical activity, a balanced diet, avoiding injuries, and getting plenty of sleep will help you stay healthy and keep your joints healthy too.

As such, celebrity yoga trainer Anshuka Parwani took to Instagram to assert the importance of healthy joints. “Mobilising the joints is really important as it helps to make the muscles more flexible and increases the range of the motion of the muscles and tendons,” she captioned the post.

She suggested some simple joint exercises and stretches that help in “strengthening the muscles and help to move them with more ease and lessen the risk of injuries,” she said.

She demonstrated some basic neck movements wherein she moved her head forward, backward, and sideways. She then did forward and backward shoulder rotations, followed by an elbow bending exercise.

She continued with elbow rotation as she moved her forearm clockwise while affixing her elbow in one position, and repeated the same anticlockwise. To move the hand joints, Parwani also did a hand clenching exercise as she made fists and then let loose of her palms.

The expert also demonstrated a wrist bending exercise followed by a shoulder side stretch. Folding her right hand as she held it by the elbow with her left hand, she bended her body towards the left and then repeated the same with the other arm.

Not leaving the spine behind, she did spine twists without moving the lower area of the body. She caved her body inwards and outwards after which she demonstrated a simple spine rotation.
