PM Modi offers tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru on birth anniversary

Born on this day in 1889 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, Nehru was a prominent leader of India’s freedom struggle and went on to become the nation’s first prime minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, on his birth anniversary.

“Tributes to former Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji on the occasion of his birth anniversary,” Modi wrote in a post on X.


Born on this day in 1889 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, Nehru was a prominent leader of India’s freedom struggle and went on to become the nation’s first prime minister. He passed away on May 27, 1964.
