As India marks the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday appealed for peace in Manipur from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Speaking on the occasion, Modi asserted that resolution of the crisis in the northeastern state is possible only through ‘peace’ and the Central and the state government is putting all its efforts into it.
Modi unfurled the country’s national flag at the Red Fort and paid tributes to the freedom fighters “who contributed towards the independence of country”.
