The BJP on Wednesday said it would raise the issue of the Congress led UPA government’s ‘failure’ to ensure a ceasefire in Sri Lanka,in the campaign for the Lok Sabha polls,to be launched at Nagercoil on March 7 by party leader L K Advani.

“The BJP’s main focus in the poll campaign will be to project the UPA Government’s failure in handling the Sri Lankan issue and not trying to bring a ceasefire in the island nation”,BJP state secretary L Ganesan told reporters in Chennai.

The BJP would also take up current issues like price rise of essential commodities and internal security,Ganesan said.

He said the BJP was likely to announce the constituencies it would contest and candidates to be fielded for the Lok Sabha polls on March 12,when the party’s state election committee meets.

“Apart from this,we will also tour several places in the state to get feedback about the party’s strength. After that we will choose right candidate for contesting in the right area”,he added.

Asked about BJP’s poll alliance,he said “Our party will contest alone. However, the options are open till March 12”.

He alleged that many fake names were included in the electoral list and said there should be seperate election reforms to look into the matter.
