Hearing a petition by two animal rights activists seeking protection against YouTuber Elvish Yadav for allegedly making “life threats” to them, the Punjab and Haryana High Court (HC) has issued notice to Haryana.

The petition has been filed by Saurabh Gupta and his brother Gaurav Gupta seeking police protection from Yadav and his associates. They said they recorded Yadav’s video and got an FIR filed against him for using snake venom as drugs in rave parties. They alleged they are receiving threat calls, demanding withdrawal of their complaint.

After hearing the plea, the Bench of Justice Jasjit Singh Bedi issued a notice to Haryana and ordered to list the matter for April 18. Yadav was recently arrested and was booked under the Wildlife Protection Act; Sections 284 (negligent conduct related to poison that endangers safety), and 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animals) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act.
