A fast-food seller from Madhya Pradesh and his two children were killed while his wife and daughter sustained serious injuries after a vehicle rammed into their motorcycle near Nana Dahisara village on state highway 24 in Morbi’s Maliya taluka late Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Kalpesh Kushwaha (35), and his children Khushi (3) and Shubham (2).
The Maliya police said the incident took place around 10.30 pm when Kalpesh, who ran a paani-puri joint at Vavaniya village in Maliya, was on his way to a nearby village with his family to meet relatives.
Kalpesh, his wife Lakshmi (28) and their three children – Khushi and Shubham and Pari (5) – were riding a bike when it was hit by a vehicle.
“After being hit by a vehicle, Kushwaha’s bike turned turtle, killing him, Shubham and Khushi on the spot. His wife and Pari were seriously injured,” Inspector Nidhi Kalsariya, in charge of Maliya police station, said.
The mother and daughter were rushed to a hospital in Morbi and were later referred to Rajkot for treatment.
“We are investigating which vehicle hit Kushwaha’s bike and how. No one has been detained or arrested so far,” Kalsariya said.
