Speaking at a meet organised by the Congress-NCP-RPI combine in support of Congress’s Pune LS candidate Suresh Kalmadi in Ghorpade Peth,Bhujbal said, “Today,there are 25 nations in the world facing severe food shortage. But India has enough food to feed 100 crore people. We are exporting foodgrains to 12 nations,thanks to the policies of Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar,” said Bhujbal. Bhujbal said that Kalmadi,NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Pune’s Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar were responsible for Pune’s growth. “Kalmadi brought the CYG to Pune,which led to further infrastructure development in the city. Also,Kalmadi is planning to get the Olympic games here in 2020. Bhujbal said the NCP-Congress is ready for an alliance for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.

Speaking on the occasion,Congress’ Pune LS candidate Suresh Kalmadi said that only the Congress-NCP-RPI combine government could maintain the stability and peace in the city,which is essential for development. “People from the slums have always supported me and I will work towards solving their problems,” Kalmadi said,adding that he was in talks with government officials to ensure that 75 per cent staff of the companies that set up shop in Pune should comprise locals.
