Additional Commissioner of Police Sarang Avhad, and DCP Vivek Patil, ACP Satish Nandukar,

PCMC officials Bapu Gaikwad and Sunil Pawar were also present for the survey.

During the meeting, the teams visited ten specific locations to assess the traffic situation which included: Wakad- Hinjewadi Bridge, Savata Mali Temple (near Hinjawadi Bridge), Hinjewadi Indian Oil petrol pump Chowk, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk ,Bhujbal Chowk, Phoenix Mall road, Western Avenue society, Missing link road (near Phoenix Mall), Kala Khadak Signal , Dange Chowk.

Petitioner for the campaign, Sachin Londhe, said, ‘Various ideas and proposed solutions were discussed for these spots. This was the third visit of the Police Commissioner to the Hinjawadi IT Park to review traffic conditions and for their commitment to finding solutions for traffic-free roads.”
Londhe said, ”We complained to the police commissioner about the bad state of roads despite the hue and cry raised by them. We told how different government agencies were still not reacting the way they should. We are still not satisfied with their actions and so-called initiatives.”

Londhe added: ”The police commissioner in response told us that his department was doing everything possible to ease the traffic situation in Hinjawadi and Wakad areas. But he said he can’t speak for other government departments.”

Londhe said it was a fact that traffic nightmare has eased to an extent. ”However, because of the bad state of roads and existing potholes, the movement of traffic still gets affected. PMRDA, PWD and MIDC are still not doing their job properly. They keep citing the problem of ongoing rain. That is only an excuse. They should speed up their efforts and initiatives to ease our nightmare. The police are doing their job. The traffic flow otherwise does not get affected but for the pathetic state of the road,” he said.
Londhe said they are also preparing to launch an agitation if the government agencies in the next few days fail to bring order to the issues on the road.
