Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Nana Patole had a miraculous escape Tuesday night after his car met with an accident in the Bhandara district. Patole said a truck deliberately rammed into his vehicle.

“I was returning from a campaign rally to my home in Sukli when a truck rammed into our vehicle. We survived but my vehicle has been damaged beyond repair,” Patole said in a video posted on social media. The accident happened near the Bhilwada village.

Patole said he has lodged a complaint with the police to find out if the accident was a deliberate attempt to harm him.

Patole was returning after campaigning for Maha Vikas Aghadi’s Bhandara candidate Prashant Padole.

Congress’s chief spokesperson Atul Londhe said, “We suspect it is a case of sabotage by our rivals. We expect the police to investigate and put the facts before the people and take appropriate action in the matter.”
