Father, son among 3 dead as two-wheelers collide with each other in Pune

Three people, including a six-year-old boy and his father, were killed as a speeding two-wheeler crashed into another at Ahstapur in the Haveli taluka of Pune district on the evening of May 31.

The police identified the deceased as Pravin Sunil Patole, 28, his son Rajveer, both residents of Ashtapur and Yash Shekhavat, 21, of Nhavi Sandas Phata in Haveli. The police said Pravin and his son Rajveer were going home on a motorcycle, and around 7.30 pm, a two-wheeler knocked them down at Ashtapur Phata.

The impact was so severe that Pravin and Rajveer died on the spot. The two-wheeler rider, Yash Shekhawat, was admitted to a hospital and the police said he, too, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Pravin’s brother, Akshay Patole, lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at the Lonikand police station. Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Ghorpade is investigating the case.
