Raghav Tiwari a television actor has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police after he was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon in Versova. The police said that the actor was crossing the road when he allegedly stepped in front of a speeding bike, following which the biker verbally abused and brutally assaulted him.
According to police officials, the incident took place late on December 30, when the actor was returning home after shopping with his friend. He told the police that he had exited a friend’s car and was crossing the road when the speeding biker had to apply a sudden brake to stop the vehicle.
“He claims that he instantly apologised; however, the biker continued to abuse the actor, which led to a confrontation, during which the accused allegedly attacked him with a liquor bottle and an iron rod,” said an officer.
“The biker even kicked him in the stomach, causing him to fall,” added the officer.
The actor was then rushed to a nearby hospital by his friends. After receiving medical treatment, he reported the matter to the Versova police station, where a case was registered against the person identified as Mohammad Zaid Parvez Sheikh, who is believed to be the son of a stunt director.
“A case of assault was registered but no one has been arrested as yet. We are probing the case,” said an investigator.
