Central Railway increases 12-car services
Central Railway (CR) will augment 19 nine-car services to 12-car services from Tuesday. With this,the number of 12-car services run daily on CRs main line will increase from 710 to 729 and the total number of 12-car services will increase from 838 to 857. It increased the services from 1,410 in 2008-09 to 1,573 at present (around 11.5 per cent increase). The number of coaches have increased from 13,998 in 2008-09 to 16,728 at present (around 20 per cent increase). It runs 785 main line services per day,of which 729 services will run as 12-coach trains from Tuesday.
Nair Hospital gets emergency service centre
To deal with emergency cases efficiently,a dedicated centre has been set up on the premises of Nair Hospital. The Emergency Service Centre,set up last week,has an eight-bed observation ward along with separate injection and suturing rooms. Earlier,the casualty ward was situated in the Out Patient Department (OPD) building of the hospital. The civic-run Nair Hospital gets more than 200 casualties daily.
