The Railway Police Force on Tuesday rounded up two people on their way from Samastipur in Bihar through the Garib Rath for possessing Rs 31.75 lakh in cash and 1 kg of gold jewellery. They did not possess documents for them,police said. We rounded up Amandeep Singh and Jagtar Singh during an inspection at the railway station. The case has been transferred to the income tax department, said SHO Gurnam Singh,Railway Police Force.
Mayor inspects new cleaning technology
Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria on Tuesday along with former mayor Hakam Singh Giaspura visited the site in Gyaspura area where 300 metres of sewerage was cleaned with a supersuction system,the technology hired by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation from New Delhi recently. CCTV camera was used to check the cleaning going on inside the sewerage while the officials were able to see the cleaning being done inside the lines on a monitor.
City students bag top ranks in PU exams
As per results of B Sc 3rd year (Fashion Designing) course declared by the Panjab University,Chandigarh on Tuesday,six university ranks were grabbed by students of Guru Nanak Girls College at Model Town in Ludhiana. Kamalpreet Kaur (84.75%) brought laurels to the college by standing second in PU while Reetika (81%) stood fifth,Tishu Dhawan (80.5%) stood 7th,Suman (79.75%) stood 8th,Meghna Verma (79.5%) stood 9th and Rajwinder Laddi (78.87%) stood 10th in the University exams.
