The body of Samajwadi Party veteran Mohan Singh,who died Sunday in New Delhi,will be brought to party head office here Monday morning before being taken to his hometown Deoria for last rites.
A three-time MP from Deoria,68-year- old Singh is survived by two daughters.
SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav,Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav,Assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey and several party leaders mourned Singhs death.
The party flag at party head office was brought at half mast after Singhs death.
Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh said Singh devoted his entire life to socialist ideology and his death is an irreparable loss to the party. Congress state president Nirmal Khatri and BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai also condoled Singhs death.
SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said Singhs body will be kept at party head office at 9 am for a ceremony where party leaders will pay homage to him.
