The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir, in a case related to militant conspiracy.
Officials said the NIA is conducting searches at three locations in Kulgam, two in Pulwama and one in Shopian in a case pertaining to criminal conspiracy for carrying out militant and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and overground workers of various proscribed organisations and off-shoots, and their affiliates, at the behest of their Pakistani commanders and handlers.
The case was registered last year and after registration of the FIR, the NIA had conducted searches in multiple locations and they had seized incriminating materials, such as digital devices, SIM cards and digital storage devices from the searched premises.
“The NIA has found that some of the suspects are involved in carrying out attacks by using cyber-space in J&K, targeting minorities and security personnel and are spreading communal disharmony in the Valley,” an official said.
