Auction house Osians is putting the finishing touches on the third of their Creative India Series,focussed around the art of Mumbai and Baroda. Titled Creative India Series 3: Bombay & Baroda,it includes works by KH Ara,Krishen Khanna,Tyeb Mehta,FN Souza,Bhupen Khakhar,Surendran Nair and MF Husain. The auction will be held in Mumbai on March 23. The Creative India Series revolves around various historically significant schools and centres of art. The first auction was held in Delhi in December 2011 and presented works by artists from Bengal; the second,also in Delhi,earlier this year,showcased artists from Punjab and Delhi. The last auction in this series will focus on the art of South India and the Cholamandal School of Art,thus completing a survey of Indian modern and contemporary art, says Osian’s Founder and Chairman,Neville Tuli.
