A day after arresting house surgeon,Dr Manpreet,and intern,Dr Navdeep,for their negligence in the transfusion of wrong blood to Suman on December 16,2010,resulting in the death of her nine-month-old foetus and damage to her kidney. The police have conducted raids to nab the third accused – Lab Technician,Kirti Sood,but to no success.
Kirti Sood,who is posted at the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH)-16,where Suman was transfused with wrong blood,is absconding., said an investigating officer.
The Chandigarh police had registered a case on June 14 against Dr Manpreet,Dr Navdeep and Lab Technician Kirti Sood,in Sector 17 police station,under section 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 201( damaging the evidence) of the IPC.
The case was registered on the recommendations of a magisterial probe conducted by Sub-Divisional Mangistrate Kavle V Parashuram who had indicted the three and recommended the case on charges of causing death due to negligence. The two doctors who were arrested on Tuesday were later released on bail.
