The state of Punjab in a reply filed over the petition by Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has submitted that the conspiracy to carry out scurrilous acts was hatched at the Dera Sacha Saudaâs administrative block in Sirsa.
Batala Senior Superintendent of Police-cum-member of Special Investigation Team Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, in an affidavit submitted before the HC, stated that the contents of the confessional statements of the accused in these cases would clearly indicate that the conspiracy was hatched at a common place, the administrative block.
The âcommon accusedâ, who were the members of the Dera national committee, directed the actual perpetrators of the crime to commit such acts of sacrilege in a particular area of Punjab.
âIt is clear that if the planning of the crime was made at Dera headquarters, the petitioner being head of the dera is bound to be involved in these criminal activities. Keeping in mind the criminal bent of the mind of petitioner as he has been convicted in 3 cases, it can be easily concluded that he is the main culprit behind all these cases,â the reply said.
The reply added that it was an open secret that dera members did not do a single act without the petitionerâs permission and were willing to lay down their lives for him. The matter was placed before Justice Amol Rattan Singh and will now come up for hearing on December 22.
