Married woman, boyfriend arrested for making rape videos of her 3-year-old daughter in Punjab

After the girl’s father reported the incident to the police, an FIR was registered and the accused mother and her boyfriend, a resident of Mansa, Punjab, were arrested, the police said.

The woman’s boyfriend had allegedly been threatening the girl’s father, claiming to be a police officer and warning him of consequences if he complained. The accused had even uploaded videos of himself wearing a police uniform and holding weapons on social media, the police said.

An official confirmed that the medical examination of the child was conducted and the doctor’s report corroborated the abuse allegations.

According to the official, the police have filed a case against both accused under Section 65/2 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rape, Section 204 for impersonating a government official, Section 351/2 for threatening and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act for aggravated penetrative sexual assault that carries a minimum imprisonment of 20 years.

While the girl’s statement was recorded before a magistrate, the accused were produced in court and granted two-day police remand for further questioning, the police said. The accused mother’s phone has been seized and sent for forensic examination, the police further said, adding that they are investigating the recovery of a police uniform allegedly used by the accused.
