Man who threatened Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh held at Delhi airport

A joint operation by Mataur police station and CIA Staff Mohali, under the supervision of Prithvi Singh Chahal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, City-1, Mohali district, led to the arrest of a man accused of issuing death threats to Punjabi singer Mankirat Singh Aulakh and demanding extortion.

The accused was identified as Harjinder Singh, alias Ravinder Singh, a resident of Khuda Jassu. Police teams tracked him down and nabbed him from Delhi Airport while he was allegedly attempting to flee abroad.

Chahal said, “The accused had been residing in Italy for the past few years and was now making efforts to escape overseas once again. He is currently in police custody, and further disclosures are expected during interrogation.”

The DSP said on August 21, the police registered an FIR under sections 318(5), 351(2) of the BNS after receiving information about threats and extortion demands made against singer Aulakh. Initially, the case was filed against an unidentified person, who was later identified as Harjinder Singh, alias Ravinder Singh.
